Volunteer Update and Orientation Recap

TULSI 2020

Thank you to those who attended our volunteer update or our new volunteer orientation this week! Our next volunteer update is next Wednesday, September 4th at 9:00pm ET/6:00pm PT, as Monday is Labor Day. Sign up here to attend.

As some of you may know, we did not qualify for September's debate. While this news is disappointing, remember what Tulsi said yesterday: "whether we have the opportunity to be on the debate stage again or not, we will remain focused on getting our message out to the American people in the same way we've been doing all along — through the grassroots efforts and word-of-mouth momentum that has supporters lined up around the block from Iowa, to South Carolina to New Hampshire."

Our campaign is still in great shape. Momentum continues to be on our side and we have a good chance of being on the debate stage in October, which will be huge for our campaign. So let's stay confident and hit the phones to convince voters in New Hampshire, Iowa and all around the country to support Tulsi in the primary!

I outlined what you can do to help Tulsi below.

  1. Phonebank from your own home! We have phonebanks all evenings during week nights and all day on weekends! Find one here.
  2. Sign up to host a phonebank, organizing meeting or a table at a farmers market in your community. We'll help you gather volunteers with an email to our list in your area. Enter your event info here.
  3. Continue taking the donor challenge. While we are still working on qualifying for September and October, we expect the donor threshold to rise for November and December too. Sign up to continue our donor momentum here.
  4. Coordinate volunteers in your county. We need help reaching all of our volunteers. If you think you can give us one to three hours of your time every week or two calling the volunteers in your county to engage them, please reply to this email and let me know!
  5. Speak at your local County Democratic Party meeting. Type in your county and Democratic Party on Google to see if your county has an active community, find their next meeting, and ask them to speak at it about why you're supporting Tulsi!

A couple important annoucements as well.

  1. A few of you have asked to be pointed in the right direction to figure out if you have a state or county coordinator. I've released a list of state coordinators here with their email address. They can point you in that right direction.
  2. Please join our Team Tulsi Volunteers Slack account here. Each state will have a channel. Please remember these channels should be used for coordinating organizing activities. Do not spam channels for states you are not from. Thank you.
  3. Lastly, remember, you can find a lot of templates for reaching out to friends, family or complete strangers here!

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any comments or questions. Thank you for everything that you do.

The truth is that email is one of the most important tools we have to update supporters like you. It is one way we come together as a community of progressives to make change in this world. Should you want to unsubscribe—and we would hate to see you leave—go here. Finally, if you believe we need to end the culture of corruption and greed in Washington, then now is the time to make a contribution to TULSI 2020.
